A blocked tub drain in Inner City
Mel was a single parent of two adorable little girls and was studying full time to become a graphic designer.
On Friday evenings, Mel took a break from her studies andran a nice warm bath for the girls. Friday evenings was fun time for the family, and Mel wouldn’t miss it for the world no matter how tired she was from the week. She knew the girls looked forward to it because they set out all their favorite toys at the side of the tub and were ready for the ‘Big Bath’ right after they woke from their afternoon nap.
That Friday afternoon, Mel was alarmed to see that the water from the tub was not going down the drain. Having lived alone for two years now, Mel knew the basics. She took out the plunger and tried to clear the blocked drain but to no avail.
She knew that she had to get the blocked drain fixed before their evening playing time. So, she got on the phone and called her general handyman, a chap named Pete. He was her ‘go to’ man in all sorts of emergencies, and this one definitely was a plumbing emergency.
As luck would have it, Pete gave her a number of a plumber he works with to help clear blocked drains. Pete said this company had dealt with plumbing problems in the localities surrounding the Inner City area.
Her spirits up, Mel almost jumped when a human voice answered the phone on the second ring. She explained her blocked drain problem quickly, hoping against hope that the Inner City plumber would agree to visit her home that evening.
The Inner City Plumber got to work immediately, he put the water jet drain cleaner into the drain and slowly the water level went down. It was a royal mess but the plumber had the tub drain working within the hour. He said the drain had blocked due to hair build up around the tree roots in the pipe.
Contrary to her expectations, he then cleaned up after himself – saying nothing about the mess, which meant that she could take that bath with her girls right after the Sydney City plumber left!
That moment, Mel decided that this was one plumbing service that she would hang on to.
